World Poker Congress Ready To Examine Both Sides Of Poker
On June 26th and 27th, the World Poker Congress will convene in Stockholm, Sweden and present a unique table of events. Rather than just looking at the live side of poker or online poker, the Congress will attempt to cover both subjects at the same time.
Without a doubt, the two entities have a direct relationship. All one has to do is look at the explosion in numbers at the World Series of Poker in the last three years to see that the online game continues to supply the live poker world with more players and, as such, the WPC thinks it is time that the two are analyzed together. At the WPC, attendees will get the chance to learn from the other side, how to take advantage of the opportunities and how to develop relationships with their counterparts that will yield benefits for each.
The Congress is being divided into two sides. The people who want to concentrate on the "Live" side of the equation will have such seminars as "Building a Base: Marketing your Poker Room", "Poker Management Systems: What's New?", "The European Landscape: Legislation and Economics", "Staging the Big Event: The TV Tournament" and many other events. For those that are more interested in the "Online" world, the meetings have such subjects as "European Legal Landscape: Can Europe Fuel the Next Online Poker Boom?", "Building a Player Base: Acquisition and Retention Strategies", "Mergers & Acquisitions: Should You Be a Seller or a Buyer?", "Building Brand: Promotional and Branding Opportunities of I-Poker Providers" and more as well.
Many of the top names in the poker business world will be speaking during the Congress, but perhaps the highlight of the two day meeting will be speeches from the leaders of the two largest poker tours in the game today. Steven Lipscomb, the CEO and founder of the World Poker Tour, and Jeffrey Pollack, the Commissioner of the World Series of Poker, are both scheduled for keynote speeches during the conference. Other important speakers include Mark Blandford of Sportingbet PLC, Susan Breen of Mishcon de Reya Solicitors, Paul Burchard of Ameranth, Steve Cook of Tribeca Tables Europe, Ltd., Bruno Fitoussi of the Aviation Club du Paris, Derek Kelly of the Gutshot Poker Club, Tiina Korpela of Casino Cosmopol Stockholm, Eric Matsgard of Boss Media, Jim Sibcy of PokerZone, Martti Sillanmaki of Grand Casino Helsinki, Othmar Valzacchi of Sports TV Production International and many others will be in Stockholm to trade thoughts on the current state of poker.
