PokerStars EPT Dublin Kicks Off With a Bang
Last night, PokerStars.com and the European Poker Tour (EPT) hosted a welcoming party at the famed Gravity Bar atop the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, Ireland to usher in the 4th Annual Dublin EPT main event. Considered the "jewel in the crown" of the Guinness Storehouse, the Gravity Bar features a dazzling 360 panoramic view of the Dublin skyline. The players and their guests were treated to a free flowing supply of Guinness beer and hors d'oeuvres throughout the night. PokerStars pros Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Katja Thater, and Noah Boeken were all in attendance.
The tournament, dubbed the Irish Winter Poker Festival 2007, kicks off today at 2:00 p.m. local time and is expected to attract around 300 runners. British pro Roland de Wolfe took down last year's event, earning over 500,000 for his first place finish. The buy-in to this year's event is 7,700 + 300, up from 5,000 last year. The event is being held at the exclusive Royal Dublin Society, in conjunction with the Merrion Casino Club.
The event is scheduled to take place over the next five days, with the final table set for Saturday, November 3.
