'Rizen' Rises on Day 2 of PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 0001

Day 2 of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure saw 478 players returning for action, the survivors of 1,136 initial entrants, 650 of whom won their seats online at PokerStars. The Day 2 field included 214 PokerStars qualifiers and twelve Team PokerStars pros, each fighting it out for a first prize of $2 million.

Big names jumped to the fore as Day 2 action commenced and the money bubble neared. As the field worked its way down under the 200-player mark, Eric 'Rizen' Lynch surged to the lead, amassing a monstrous 526,900 stack headed into Day 3. Team PokerStars member Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier sits in second place with 435,000. Other notable players remaining in the field include Barry Greenstein, Hevad Khan, Victor Ramdin, Andre Akkari, William Thorson, Julian Thew, and Jon Friedberg.

2006 PCA champion Steve Paul-Ambrose began the day with one of the largest stacks in the field but was eliminated during the day's action. Other notable Day 2 departures included Isabelle Mercier, Tom McEvoy, Daniel Negreanu, and Noah Boeken.

Approximately 160 players returned on Tuesday to fight for one of the 120 paying spots in the fifth annual PCA. Coverage of the later rounds of the 2008 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure continues on the PokerStars blog (www.pokerstarsblog.com); and as a PokerStars.net European Poker Tour event, the final table will be broadcast over the Internet at eptlive.com.
