Patrik Antonius Signs with Poker Royalty
One of the biggest unrepresented pros in all of poker no longer has that status, as prominent agency Poker Royalty has announced the signing of Patrik Antonius for worldwide management. The Poker Royalty deal covers all major venues, including media, sponsorship, licensing, commercial endorsements and appearances.
The very marketable Finnish star has been one of the poker world's biggest breakout stories of recent years, and has become one of the most recognizable faces in the long-running "Big Game" in Bobby's Room at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, competing on a near-daily basis in high-stakes cash-game play against Doyle Brunson, Barry Greenstein, Daniel Negreanu, Jennifer Harman, Sammy Farha, and many of poker's other biggest stars.
Antonius, 27, has also notched televised final-table appearances on three of the largest poker tours --- the World Series of Poker, the World Poker Tour and the European Poker Tour. Antonius has also been a regular on such made-for-TV hits as "High Stakes Poker" and "Poker After Dark". Antonius ranks as Finland's all-time leading tournament money winner and ranks fourth among poker players of Scandinavian descent, trailing only Gus Hansen, Chris Bjorin and Martin De Knijff at the present time.
Poker Royalty's Director of Sales and Marketing, Chris Porter, said, "Patrik is one of those rare combinations of natural abilities, looks and raw talent that can transcend the game of poker. Add Poker Royalty's resources and core business relationships, and Patrik will be an even brighter star on the tour and off."
In announcing the deal, Antonius stated, "Poker Royalty works with some of the biggest names in poker, creating for them the kind of opportunities no other company can provide. I am very excited about the new relationship with Poker Royalty."
