Jamie Gold, E!'s Khloe Kardashian to Host Urban Health Benefit
2006 WSOP Main Event winner Jamie Gold will join with E! Network star Khloe Kardashian ("Keeping Up with the Kardashians") in hosting a May 17th poker fundraiser on behalf of the Los Angeles-based Urban Health Institute. The benefit, which will be held at the famed Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills, has already secured a solid list of celebrity attendees.
In addition to the "Brunson Family" (which Brunsons will attend was not specified), those slated to play include Don Cheadle, Anthony Anderson, Idris Elba, Dondre Whitfield and Salli Richardson Whitfield, Aaron McGruder, Glynn Turman, Claudia Jordan, Tommy Ford, Olivia Brown, Mellyssa Ford, NFLer Antonio Pierce, R&B's Al B. Sure, Carl Payne, Chris Spencer, Kevin Hart, Mad Mike ("Pimp My Ride"), film director F. Gary Gray, and LA radio personalities Valentine and Mark Kriski. Special guest Spinderella will handle the event's DJ duties.
Buy-in for the poker event is $1,500, with other casino-style events also available. A silent auction with a wide variety of prizes is also part of the event; among the prizes up for auction is a private poker lesson from Gold. Proceeds from the event support the Urban Health Institute, which provides direct care, medicine and medical equipment in response to natural and man-made disasters. This event's funds are earmarked for the Urban Health Institute's monthly health education seminars, quarterly health fairs and the purchase of medical supplies for underserved communities locally and abroad.
