Women's Poker Spotlight: Upcoming Fall Tournaments
Poker-playing ladies across the United States have a lot to look forward to in the upcoming months. The Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana is the site of the next World Series of Poker Circuit Event. The ladies-only tournament will be held on Sunday, October 26 at 3:00pm. Buy in for the event is $200 with a $35 entrance fee.
The World Series of Poker Circuit Event Tour is a series of poker tournaments presented by ESPN and the World Series of Poker across the United States. The individual stops on the circuit feature a wide range of buy-ins including a main event. Players who win a WSOP Circuit Main Event during the 2008-2009 season will receive an entry into the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas, Nevada. The ladies on the east coast will also have their day this weekend at Foxwoods Resort Casino during the World Poker Tour's World Poker Finals. This is one of the most highly anticipated tournaments of the year. The ladies event will be held on Saturday, October 26th at 10:00am. There will be a $260 buy in with a $40 fee.
The World Poker Finals features tournament buy-ins from $260 to the championship event's buy-in of $9,700. Games include seven-card stud, Omaha 8-or-better and, of course texas hold'em. The west coast ladies are not to be left out. Peppermill Hotel and Casino in Reno, NV is holding its fall poker tournament. The ladies event will be held on Sat, October 25th at 2:00 PM. The buy in for the event is relatively low at $100 and a $20 fee.
Following the ladies event (at 7:00pm) a $100 buy-in no-limit hold'em mixed event will take place as a warm-up for the $1,000 + $60 main event where the winner will win cash and a gold bracelet. Visit www.peppermillreno.com for more information.
More action for the ladies on the West Coast; the Caesars Palace Classic in Las Vegas has been in full swing since October 16th. The ladies event will be on Sunday, October 26th at 10:00am. Buy in for the event will be $300 with a $30 fee.
Make sure to make time on the days following the ladies event for satellite tournaments into the $10,000 main event to be held on Tuesday, October 28th at noon. The main event will start with $100,000 in chips and have 75-minute levels. Visit www.caesarspalace.com for more details.
October is the time for fall leaves and also for the annual Binions Poker Open. The ladies event here will be held on Monday, October 27th at 2:00pm. The buy-in will be $135 with a $15 fee. The success of the first Binions Poker Open spurred the poker room at Binions to do it again. The 21-event series kicked off on October 15th and promises to be even better than last year.
