Online Poker Weekend: Danny 'THE__D__RY' Ryan Enjoys Monster Sunday
It was Danny Ryan's night in the two biggest online events on Sunday, the PokerStars Sunday Million and the Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee. Ryan, who plays as "THE__D__RY" on both sites, began by running to a solid 23rd-place finish in the Full Tilt major. Despite busting out there, he still had another deep run to finish up, that in the Sunday Million where he did so in style, coming from behind to take down the win and cap a remarkable online evening.
PokerStars Sunday Million
The PokerStars Sunday Million drew 7,755 participants this weekend, creating a prize pool of $1,551,000. Among the best finishers falling short of the final table were Tim "timkrank" Miles in 12th place ($7,755), AABenjaminAA in 14th ($5,428.50), Halfrek in 20th ($3,102) and Bryan "micon" Micon in 90th ($2,171.40). Keven "Stammdogg" Stammen made his second Sunday Million final table of the month and looked to improve upon a fifth-place finish three weeks ago. The chip counts to start the final table were as follows:
parachuting - 17,204,381
Major_BomB - 12,095,966
xfadomas666 - 7,789,228
Danny "THE__D__RY" Ryan - 7,502,280
Keven "Stammdogg" Stammen - 7,207,686
thebosshead - 7,014,840
A_Ivanovich - 6,753,250
Verichip - 6,436,778
Bjorn-Erik "Hikkespett" Glenne - 5,545,591
The first to be sent to the rail was Bjorn-Erik "Hikkespett" Glenne at the 150,000/300,000/30,000 level. His last 4,712,712 in chips were at stake with A?10? and he needed help against xfadomas666's A?J?. The board ran out 3?8?9?7?10? as the river ten gave xfadomas666 a straight. Bjorn-Erik "Hikkespett" Glenne took home $10,857 for ninth place. At 200,000/400,000/40,000, A_Ivanovich raised to 2,888,586 under the gun, and was then faced a shove by Keven "Stammdogg" Stammen. A_Ivanovich called all in, holding J?J? and led Stammen's 8?8?. Things looked up for A_Ivanovich after the flop arrived 9?J?6?, but the turn and river came 10? and 7? to make a straight for Stammen. The eighth-place finish paid A_Ivanovich $17,836.50. Thebosshead finished seventh after losing a coin flip to Danny "THE__D__RY" Ryan. It was A?K? for Ryan against thebosshead's 6?6?. The board rolled out A?10?10?A?7? and thebosshead was felted in the following hand, collecting $27,142.50.
After a long six-handed stretch, Keven "Stammdogg" Stammen succumbed. At 300,000/600,000/60,000, Major_BomB shoved from the small blind and looked to set Stammen all in. With K?Q?, Stammen called and was ahead of Major_BomB's 5?4?. However, the board came 7?5?2?A?2? and Stammdogg's hand was second best. His second Sunday Million final table of the month resulted in a $39,550.50 payday. Verichip was next to bust. Under the gun, Verichip shoved for 6,893,556 with K?Q? and got action from xfadomas666 with A?J?. The board rolled out A?7?2?K?A? and Verichip was out the next hand in fifth for $55,060.50. Major_BomB was defused a few hands later. Holding A?K? and all in preflop, Major_BomB was unable to find help against parachuting's 9?9? as the board came queen-high. Major_BomB took home $70,570.50 for fourth.
Parachuting held the chip lead for the majority of three-handed play, but would finish in third place. With blinds and antes at 400,000/800,000/80,000. On the button, parachuting opened to 2,400,000 and Danny "THE__D__RY" Ryan reraised from the big blind to 6,600,000. Parachuting, sensing that Ryan was making a move, reraised all in with the big stack and Ryan snap-called for the rest of his chips with A?K?. He led parachuting's A?7?, but had to sweat a dangerous 5?10?J? flop. The turn and river came blanks, though, and Ryan took over the chip lead. Parachuting fell on the next hand. The board read A?K?Q?9? at the turn and Ryan put parachuting at risk with A?5?. Parachuting called and turned up K?J? and found no help when the river came the 8?, exiting with $86,856.
The chip counts at the start of heads-up play were as follows:
Danny "THE__D__RY" Ryan - 63,255,776
xfadomas666 - 14,294,224
It took just seven hands for Danny Ryan to claim victory. He opened to 2,040,000 on the button and xfadomas666 called out of the big blind. Both checked the 6?4?10? flop and the turn came the 8?. Xfadomas666 shoved for 10,574,224 with Q?8? and Ryan insta-called, tabling 9?7? for the nut straight. The 3? river card was merely a formality as xfadomas666 finished runner-up for $128,112.60. The winner of the PokerStars Sunday Million was Danny "THE__D__RY" Ryan, who capped a phenomenal night and added the first-place prize of $189,997.50 to his already outstanding resume.

Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee
The Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee attracted a field of 3,644, all vying for the winner's payday of $132,787.50. Notable finishers included eventual Sunday Million winner Danny "THE__D__RY" Ryan in 23rd ($2,775), STELLA05 in 50th ($1,387.50), Esther Rossi in 53rd ($1,387.50) and Rami "Arbianight" Boukai in 58th ($1,387.50). Wasaki coke entered the final table as the chip leader and looked to improve upon a second-place finish in this tournament last month. The chip counts as the final table began were as follows:
Wasaki coke - 2,922,488
MicoTX - 2,378,925
Embetant - 1,060,325
spandit - 1,028,310
Mike "SPIN101" Spinasanta - 1,028,138
David "Davidp18" Peters - 960,824
PXFACTOR - 659,391
DNA2RNA - 566,747
Ali "PeppermintHippo" Khalil - 326,852
Ali "PeppermintHippo" Khalil was the first to exit the final. At the 20,000/40,000/5,000 level, the short-stacked Khalil shoved for 316,852 with 9?9? and found action from PXFACTOR, who held A?10?. The board came K?5?A?5?J? and Khalil departed with $10,050. DNA2RNA bit the dust a few hands later. Getting it all in for 481,747 with J?J?, DNA2RNA had Wasaki coke's 4?4? dominated. However, the board ran out 10?4?Q?8?K? and DNA2RNA finished in eighth for $13,500. PXFACTOR's tournament ended at the 25,000/50,000/6,000 level. Spandit raised to 149,999 from middle position and PXFACTOR moved all in from the big blind for 1,050,243 with 9?9?. Unfortunately for PXFACTOR, spandit called and showed Q?Q?. The board did not produce a nine and PXFACTOR's luck ran out in seventh for $17,250. Embetant was the next to go. Under the gun, Embetant shipped it in for 560,325 with A?J?, but found trouble when Mike "SPIN101" Spinasanta woke up with K?K? in the big blind holding just a few chips less than Embetant. The 4?K?Q? brought trips to Spinasanta and draws to Embetant. The 9? turn changed nothing. However when the 9? fell on the river, Embetant's ace-high flush was beaten by Spinasanta's kings-over-nines full house. Embetant was eliminated the next hand in sixth place for $23,025.
Departing next was David "Davidp18" Peters at 30,000/60,000/7,500. From the small blind, MicoTX shoved with the bigger stack of the two with K?J? and Peters called all in from the big blind for 770,824 with A?6?. The board ran out 2?3?J?10?2? and Peters came up short, finishing fifth for $31,050. Mike "SPIN101" Spinasanta soon fell as well. Wasaki coke opened to 150,000 from the cutoff and Spinasanta shoved from the big blind for 621,276 with A?K?. Wasaki coke called with K?Q? and trailed, but the board ran out Q?Q?J?J?3?. Mike "SPIN101" Spinasanta collected $41,400 for his run. Winding up in third was spandit, at the 40,000/80,000/10,000 level. Wasaki coke opened to 185,000 on the button and spandit moved all in from the big blind for 691,811. With a comfortable eight million in chips behind, Wasaki coke called with 9?5? and faced off against spandit's K?Q?. The board ran out 3?6?J?2?5? as Wasaki coke paired up on the river. Spandit took home $52,500 for third.
Heads-up play began with the following chip counts:
Wasaki coke - 8,811,751
MicoTX - 2,120,249
Despite the 4:1 deficit, MicoTX stormed back to the lead. Finally, at 80,000/160,000/20,000, the tournament came to a close. Wasaki coke moved all in for 1,348,704 with K?9? and MicoTX called with K?8?. The board ran out 4?7?K?8?Q? as MicoTX spiked an eight to take it down. Wasaki coke took home $80,250 for the runner-up finish. While MicoTX pocketed $132,787.50 for the victory.
