Marco Noll Takes Overall Lead at PokerStars.com EPT Dortmund
A total of 358 players showed up for the second Day One at the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour Dortmund Main Event, bringing the overall number of entrants to 664. At the end of play on Wednesday, Germany's own Marco Noll held the overall chip lead as the only player to crack the 100,000-chip mark, vaulting him past Day 1a chip leader William Thorson.
Noll was one of 137 players who survived the day with chips, meaning 252 are still alive to fight for the title. Joining him near the top of the leaderboard was fellow countryman Peter Bueermann, who finished the day with 80,500, as well as the defending champion of this event, Canadian Mike McDonald (pictured), whose 67,900 landed him inside the top ten heading into Thursday's Day 2.
Other notables moving on include Max Pescatori (who ended the day with a healthy stack of 59,600), Davidi Kitai and Luca Pagano. Meanwhile, the list of those eliminated on Wednesday included Dario Minieri, Jesper Hougaard, Clonie Gowen, Peter Eastgate, Bertrand Grospellier, Marcel Luske and Katja Thater.
