Legends Final Table Set
When you're running good, you're running good, and it seems that running good comes with being a part of the November Nine. Just ask Ivan Demidov, he made the final table of the WSOP Europe last year after making the final table of the 2008 WSOP Main Event. Well, you can add Kevin Schaffel to the list. He is currently sitting atop the chip count leaderboard of the WPT Legends of Poker.
The six players are currently playing for the $1,034,500 first place prize, as play began at 4:00pm PST. Todd Terry is right on Schaffel's heels followed by Prahlad Friedman (who thinks Poker is Fun), Mike Krescanko, Sam Stein, and Toto Leonidas.
It seems Steven Begleiter decided to save up some of his "run-good" for November. The November Nine member finished in 9th place, good for $39,240. How much "run-good" will Schaffel have left? We'll have to wait till November to find out.

Shulman's At It Again
November Niner, Jeff Shulman, stirred up some controversy after saying what he said about a certain bracelet during the WSOP Main Event this year. On the heels of that controversy starting comment, in an interview with CardPlayer, he said instead of throwing the bracelet in the trash, he was going to:
1. auction the bracelet off and give the money to charity
2. hold a tournament for all the players shut out of the Main Event and give it to the winner
3. give it to the winner of a SpadeClub tournament,
4. give it to Stephen Colbert.
According to Shulman, he wants to make the industry stronger and better for players.
Now, in an interview with Diego Cordovez for The Scoop, when asked about the poker media stirring the controversy of his comments, he offered this: Ive had a lot of people come up to me and say that somebodys got to do something about it. Im not sure Im the right guy, being that Im in the industry, but its not like we have some special relationship here. They hate us, for whatever reason I think they hate anyone whos not a celebrity, or maybe its just that they treat the celebrities so much better than everyone else that they have special rules, they dont get penalties. Ive never seen anything like it. If we really want to take poker to the next level, you cant have different rules for different people.
We'll let you form your own opinions of the whole situation, tell us what you think in the forums. Pokerati has the whole story.
