Dream Team Poker at the Bike

If you like football and you like poker, then Monday night at the Bicycle Casino in LA is where you want to be. For 11 weeks, Dream Team Poker will be the host of a Monday Night Football event at the Bike.

Beginning Monday, October 19, for 11 consecutive weeks, teams will battle on the felt for cash and Team Chips that they will be able to use in a championship tournament on December 28. The tournament starts at 7 p.m. every Monday night and has a $201 buy-in per team of three (that's $57 + $10 per person). Every Monday event that a player plays earns more Team Chips, which will be distributed evenly among the team members during the championship event. Also, each winning team from the Monday event will earn a seat in theHo-Ho No Limit Hold'em DTP Bike Main Event, which will take place on December 12.

The championship event is the one you want to work toward if you're a true football fan. The winning team and winning individual of that event will win tickets and $500 in cash to Super Bowl XLIV on February 7, 2010, at Miami Dolphin's Stadium.

Hedgehogs Can Play Poker?

SEGA Games Ltd. filed an application with the Alderney Gambling Control Commission in March 2009 to enter the online gambling market. Sure enough, the application passed and SEGA now has a full interactive license and can begin operations.

SEGA has partnered with Playtech for this foray into online gambling. The two are working on finishing touches on the SEGA Casino and SEGA Poker sites. For those of you wondering whether Sonic the Hedgehog will be making an appearance, rest assured, SEGA characters will be incorporated into the games.

The Alderney Gambling Control Commission provides the most comprehensive gaming regulations with the strictest requirements and as such is recognizes as the most reputable online gaming jurisdiction. This provides as excellent fit with Segas regulatory compliant strategy, and we are pleased to be approved by this leading authority," a SEGA spokesperson said.

We're just curious if a code like A, up, down, left, right and start will throw out a royal flush or something.

Harrah's Going Euro

Harrah's Entertainment Inc. is interested in expanding into Eastern Europe. Harrah's is looking at a casino in Slovakia and has signed a nonbinding letter of intent with Hungarian developer, TriGranit.

TriGranit is heading up a $2 billion mixed development named "Metropolis" being built outside of Bratislava. If the deal goes through, Harrah's would foot less than $50 million of the bill.

"Harrah's involvement is dependent on TriGranit receiving the necessary governmental approvals to proceed with the development. Even if it succeeds, it could some time before the project breaks ground," Senior Vice President of Communications and Government Relations Jan Jones said.

Harrah's isn't the only casino company considering expanding on the cheap. MGM Mirage is working on franchising some of its brands throughout the Middle East.
