Tom durrrr Dwan and Daniel jungleman12 Cates logged their second durrrr Challenge session on Monday afternoon, playing 958 hands in a little over 90 minutes. Cates made it two for two against Dwan, banking a $172,954 win to expand his overall lead in the challenge to $692,400. With 6,820 hands in the books, Cates is winning more than 25 big blinds per 100 hands, a rate any poker pro will tell you is unsustainable. Translation? Cates certainly has the early edge, but there is still a long way to go.

Had Dwan not taken down the largest pot of the session, his balance sheet would be looking even worse. Dwan opened two black tens for $1,200 and Cates called from the big blind. Cates check-called Dwans $2,000 continuation bet on the K?8?3? flop. The 10? on the turn was Dwans gin card and when Cates checked to him a second time, he bet $5,200. Cates called and they went to the river, which fell the 2?. Cates checked, Dwan bet $12,200, and Cates raised to $40,000. Dwan responded with a shove for $68,393 and Cates called off the $17,394 he had behind, mucking at the sight of Dwans set. Dwan raked in the $131,588 pot.

After about 820 hands, Dwan had actually worked up a $25,000 profit for the session before things took a sharp turn for the worse. In the closing moments of the session (Dwan called it quits shortly thereafter), two six-figure pots simultaneously unfolded. In what would be the penultimate hand played on durrrr Challenge Table 10, Cates opened A?10? on the button for $1,200 and Dwan made a light three-bet to $3,600 with 3?8?. Cates called and they saw a 5?5?4? flop. Dwan led out for $4,800 with his flush draw and Cates called with ace-high. The A? on the turn made Cates top pair but Dwan did his bidding for him, firing a second bullet for $11,200. Cates smooth-called. Dwan missed his draw when the Q? hit the river but nevertheless pulled the trigger, moving all-in for $62,777. Cates called all-in for $41,589 and took down the $122,377 pot.

At the same time over on Table 13, Cates opened for $1,200 and Dwan called. Dwan checked the A?9?2? flop over to Cates, who bet $2,000. Dwan raised to $6,600 and Cates called. When the turn came the 5? Dwan led out for $11,200 and Cates smooth-called. The river was the 10?, putting four to a flush on the board. Dwan checked, Cates moved all-in for $38,586 and Dwan called. Cates turned over A?K? for the nut flush and collected the $115,173 pot.

All Dwan could offer after that was meh, gg as he logged off Full Tilt.

Will Cates keep crushing Dwan or is this just another nosebleed-stakes swing? Keep it here on PokerNews for continuing coverage of the durrrr Challenge.
