Doubles Poker Championship
The Doubles Poker Championship is coming back this weekend with a fresh episode. The show airs at 9 p.m. EDT on GSN and in case you haven't seen it before, here's a breakdown of how it works. Two players share a hand and alternate playing each street, each player has to earn points to advance, and to get to the semifinals 35 points are needed, which means some players need to get it in gear.
Johnny Chan is leading the way in points with 60 from his victories in the first three matches.Tom Dwan, Phil Hellmuth, and Annie Duke, according to the math (unless you believe its idiotic), don't have a chance to make it. David Benyamine and David Oppenheim are looking into joining that club too if they can't get anything going soon.

WCOOP Day 12
Thursday marked the 12th day on the 2010 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker schedule. Thus far, 34 events have been played and over $26 million has been awarded in prize money. Three events crowned winners on Thursday, the $320 no-limit hold'em six-max, $320 pot-limit Omaha six-max with one rebuy and one add-on, and the $320 fixed-limit triple draw 2-7. World Poker Tour Borgata
The World Poker Tour is in Atlantic City for the Borgata Poker Open Championship. The $3,500 Main Event kicks off Saturday and boasts a $2 million guarantee. Last year, Olivier Busquet took home the title and $925,514 for besting a field of over 1,000 players.
The Borgata Poker Open has been running since September 8, holding a variety of events at various buy-ins including a heads-up double-elimination event, ladies event, and $100,000 guaranteed no-limit hold'em two-reentry event.
You still have time to get to Borgata for the Main Event, there are two Day 1 starts so head on over and add a WPT title to your resume.
99 Years Times Three
A San Antonio man who was on parole for attempted murder in an armed poker heist last year has been sentenced to three 99-year terms. Edward Donnell Hendricks will need to serve at least 30 years of the sentences, which will run concurrently, before he is eligible for parole.
Jurors convicted Hendricks, who chose to represent himself, in less than an hour. Note to you folks on trial out there, unless you have a law degree, representing yourself probably isn't a good idea no matter what you see on TV shows.
��No one was hurt physically in the crime. Everybody got their property back. I'm not as bad as I am being painted. I have a conscience, and I know it's hard for you to believe it, but I am good," Hendricks said. He faced a minimum of 15 years because of past convictions, but he asked the jury for 25 years. He apologized to the jury, saying he was, "one of the few convicted felons who really do have the desire to become a productive member of society.��
