World Series of Poker Circuit Adding Stops
The World Series of Poker Circuit is adding two new stops to its 2010-2011 schedule. New to the docket are the Palm Beach, Florida, stop and Chester, Pennsylvania.
From February 17 to March 1, the WSOP-C will be stopping in at the Poker Room at the Palm Beach Kennel Club, which has become the third non-Caesars property to be awarded a WSOP Circuit event. The 60-table PBKC Poker Room is the largest and highest-grossing poker room in Florida.
"Florida was definitely a market we wanted to serve, as the residents of the sunshine state have been loyal participants at the WSOP in Las Vegas, WSOP Vice President Ty Stewart said. After careful consideration of our options, it was clear that the Palm Beach Kennel Club could accommodate the kind of numbers we expect for a Circuit Event in this market. Players who have visited there rave about the staff and the unique dynamic of playing poker overlooking the live action on the track.
The second addition to the WSOP-C schedule will take place April 28 through May 9 at Harrah's Chester in Pennsylvania. The addition of this stop coincides with the recent changes in law in Pennsylvania, allowing table games. The 25-table, WSOP branded poker room is brand new and the stop will be unique in that, after multiple days of live horse racing on-site, the Main Event will be played on the "first Saturday in May," which is the biggest simulcast wagering event of the year.
This is the ultimate double-up, Stewart said. Were going to have a lot of fun with the opportunity to combine the thrill of WSOP tournament poker with the pageantry of live horse racing.
