The Online Railbird Report: Scott

The biggest hands the last few days at the Full Tilt Poker high-stakes cash games have been played between Patrick Antonius and PokerNews Strategy pro Scott "URnotINdanger2" Palmer. The latter is off to a blazing start in 2011, up more than $1.1 million, and has earned much of that from his winning sessions over Antonius and Tom "durrrr" Dwan.

Palmer and Antonius played a session at $500/$1,000 pot-limit HA in which nine hands cracked the $200,000 mark. While Antonius won five of the pots, Palmer took down most of the biggest, mainly at pot-limit Omaha. Antonius started the hand with the button and raised to $3,000. Palmer three-bet to $9,000 and Antonius came right back over the top to $16,000. Palmer called and checked when the flop came down 9?4?3?. Antonius fired a pot-sized bet of $32,000. The J? landed on the turn and Palmer took control of the pot with a $96,000 bet. Antonius responded with an all-in shove for about $128,000 total. A quick call from Palmer revealed the following hands.

Palmer: J?10?8?4? (two pair, open-ended straight draw, two flush draws)
Antonius: A?J?8?6? (top pair, top kicker)

The pot was set at just less than $352,000 and Antonius only had a 10% chance of winning. They ran it twice, but neither river was any help to Antonius. The first river brought the K? further improving Palmer's hand to a flush while the second river delivered the Q? and made a straight for Palmer. Bottom line? The monster pot went Palmer's way his biggest individual pot win of his career on Full Tilt.

The next biggest pot clocked in at just shy of $261,000 and went to Antonius. Palmer had the button and opened to $2,500 but was quickly met with a raise to $9,000 by Antonius. After Palmer called, the flop fell 7?4?3?. Antonius check-called $12,000 from Palmer, leading to the K? turn card. Another check followed from Antonius and Palmer kept up the heat with $31,000.

A $109,000 all-in raise came from Antonius and Palmer called with 9?7?7?5? for a set and flush draw, while Antonius tabled A?J?8?5? for a straight draw and the nut-flush draw a 30% chance of winning. They ran it twice again and Antonius caught well on both. First, the 6? river made him an eight-high straight to lock up half of the pot. The second river brought the 10?, giving Antonius the nut flush to collect the entire pot.

Palmer took down the third biggest pot played. Antonius raised to $3,000 on the button and Palmer made it $9,000 to go from the big blind. Antonius called and the flop ran out K?10?2?. Palmer bet $13,000, but was quickly raised to $57,000. Palmer responded by moving all-in for about $107,500 and Antonius called, showing K?Q?5?3? for top pair and a flush draw. Palmer, meanwhile, turned over Q?10?10?9? for middle set and a straight draw.

They ran it twice and Palmer came up clean on both runs. The 5? turn and A? river improved Antonius to two pair, but he still came up short against Palmer's set. On the second run, the J? turn fell followed by the 7? river. Antonius' draw failed to get there again and he saw the roughly $233,000 pot head Palmer's way.
