Tom durrrr Dwan and Daniel jungleman12 Cates resumed thedurrrr Challenge late Monday night for the first time since January 4 and played two swift sessions at $200/$400 no-limit hold'em. Dwan was up about $21,000 after 238 hands and then told Cates he would "brb," leaving Cates and railbirds waiting for a little while before returning. Another 110 hands were played and went solely in Cates' favor. The end result after the 348 total hands? Cates increased his overall lead by roughly $122,000 and is up $941,362.50.

At first, the momentum appeared to be in Dwan's corner. He had the button and opened to $1,200, only to see Cates make it $4,000 to go from the big blind. A call from Dwan delivered a Q?10?3? flop. Cates kept his foot on the pedal and bet $4,400, but Dwan stuck around to see the 6? turn card. Cates kept up the heat with a bet of $9,200 and Dwan again called, landing the scary Q? river card. Both checked this time and unfortunately for Cates, his 6?3? was counterfeited on the river by Dwan's K?10? - $35,199.50 to Dwan.

Two minutes later, the biggest pot of their short 110-hand session took place. Dwan raised to $1,200 on the button and Cates again three-bet to $4,000 from the big blind. Dwan called and the flop came down 9?8?6?. Cates checked it over to Dwan who bet $4,800, but Cates raised to $10,800. Not to be outdone, Dwan three-bet shoved his entire stack and Cates called all in for $36,400 with K?J? for two overcards and a flush draw. Dwan revealed 7?7?, and although he had the best hand at the moment, it was a flip for both halves of the $80,799 pot. The first run saw the 8? turn followed by the 9? river, putting two pair on board and giving Cates the pot with the king kicker. The second run brought the Q? turn and kept Dwan ahead, but the K? hit the river and locked up the second half for Cates, as well - $80,799 to Cates.

A minute later, Cates took down the second biggest pot of their second session. The action was the same as the previous two hands mentioned, with the only difference being Cates' three-bet was to $3,600. The flop fell 9?8?6? with Cates firing $4,400 at the pot. Dwan shoved for $29,599.50 and Cates called with 9?8? for top two pair, while Dwan tabled A?10? for a flush draw and straight draw. They ran it twice and again Dwan came up empty. The first run brought the 6? turn followed by the Q? river, while the second run brought the 3? and Q?, respectively - $66,398 to Cates.

Overall Stats
