Alderney Issues Statement and ARJEL Suspends Full Tilt Poker License
On Sunday, the Alderney Gambling Control Commission issued a statement about discussions it is in with Full Tilt Poker. The discussions, centered around a possible refinancing of Full Tilt Poker, are between the AGCC, the licensees trading as Full Tilt Poker, and a third party. The main objective of the talks is to help Full Tilt Poker reopen to its current and future players.
While there are many reports circulating, the AGCC has not authorized any statements from legal counsel. The AGCC also has "no knowledge of the comments attributed by the editor of GamblingCity.net to a Mr. Werner Bers, of whom we are otherwise unaware, and disputes the correctness of his statement."
Although that seems like it could be promising news for Full Tilt Poker, the site was hit with another blow on Monday. French gambling authority, ARJEL, issued a statement regarding the license of FullTiltPoker.fr. The statement said that ARJEL decided to "suspend, as a precaution, the approval of the operator of online poker." ARJEL says the reason for the suspension is because of an interruption in the ability of players to access the site. This interruption comes from the suspension of Full Tilt Poker's license from the AGCC. There is no word yet on the length of the suspension of Full Tilt's French license.
ARJEL says that it will remain in contact with Full Tilt Poker to make sure that Full Tilt's possible refinancing is met and the conditions of it are favorable for protecting the interests of players in France.
