It's Not Us, It's You

On Sunday, The Hendon Mob announced that it severed its exclusive relationship with Full Tilt Poker. On top of that, the players who make up The Hendon Mob have ended their affiliation as Full Tilt Red Pros.

"We are well aware that a great deal of players including many who signed through The Hendon Mob still have money on FTP, as well as steps tickets, player points etc. going forward, and in any scenario where Full Tilt Poker resumes trading, we will as an affiliate continue to look out for the interests of our players and to try to achieve the best possible outcome regarding their funds. We do not take the loyalty of our community for granted," said the statement.

"The Hendon Mob employs a sizable staff of full and part time people who are dedicated to maintaining and improving the database, the forum and everything else that the poker community expects from our website. We are currently running at a substantial loss and this is not sustainable in the long term," The Hendon Mob explained in its statement.

Partouche Poker Tour Final Table Set

The final table of the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event is set. After five days of play, Sam Trickett is sitting on top of the chip counts with nine players left. We'll just add this to Trickett's year of awesomeness. The Brit has racked up over $3 million in tournament earnings so far this year.

When Day 5 began, 18 players took their seats in hopes of making it into the final nine. Among those who were eliminated included Juha Helppi (15th) and Will Failla, who, after being eliminated in 14th place, hopped on a flight to Borgata for the World Poker Tour. Ludovic Lacay came close to making a final table appearance, but was sent to the rail in 11th place.

When Emile Petit was eliminated in 10th place, play was halted. The final nine players will all return for the Partouche Poker Tour's "November Nine" on Nov. 12.

Team PokerStars Online Welcomes Vivian Im

PokerStars Team Online roster seems to be getting tougher each and every week. Last week, it was announced that Mickey "mement_mori" Petersen would be sporting PokerStars red spade, and today another online luminary joined their ranks. Vivan Im, a dance artist by trade, is the latest member of Team PokerStars Online and will play under the screen name "Vivian Im."

"I am very happy that since I have played majority of the time online that this will give me the opportunity to play on more offline events," Im said. "I look forward to traveling and playing in many major tournaments."

Im burst onto the poker scene this year when she took down the APPT Cebu, followed by a second-place finish in a Macau Poker Cup Red Dragon Main Event. Interestingly, Im owes her poker success to another member of Team PokerStars, Betrand "ElkY" Grospellier, who ran into Ims boyfriend on the Starcraft circuit, told him of his poker success, and later had it related to Im.

"If it wasn't for him I probably would have never known about poker and definitely not be in this position right now," Im said. "He still teaches me many things and does not hesitate to give advices on my plays."

To learn more about Im, be sure to check out the PokerStars Blog.

Internet Poker Amendment Passes in Massachusetts

The Massachusetts House of Representatives passed a casino gambling bill last Wednesday, that just so happened to include provisions for Internet poker. The bill could bring three casinos to the state, while the amendment, proposed by State Rep. Daniel Winslow, allows up to five Internet poker companies to operate within the state.

In a statement, Winslow stated: "This amendment was aimed at creating high-tech job opportunities in Massachusetts, as well as increased local aid revenue. It is important to remember that 1,700 foreign companies already offer Internet poker, so state regulation will ensure that consumers are not being cheated."

After passing through the House, the bill will now make its way to the state Senate.
