The Online Railbird Report: !P0krparty? Wins Nearly $500,000
The online action was in full swing throughout the week, and a Thursday night rush made "!P0krparty?" the weeks big winner, earning $499,257 in 13,307 hands spread across 76 sessions. A pair of unknowns rounded out the top three winners, albeit quite a bit further behind. For instance, diggidave was the weeks second biggest winner with $138,221 profit in 115 sessions of 8,247 hands, and Kanu7 banked $133,701 in 37 sessions of 5,372 hands.
Unfortunately, the week didnt prove so kind to a slate of high-stakes regulars. Phil takechip DAuteuil ended up the weeks biggest loser after dropping $252,016 in 2,890 hands spread across 45 sessions. Also losing quite the chunk of change were Ben Ben86 Tollerene, who dropped $211,014 in 103 sessions of 7,969 hands, and Romain moirhums Arnaud, losing $190,366 in 66 sessions of 6,208 hands.
Koncert888 Takes verve.oasis for $87,000
On Saturday, the Russian contingent was well-represented by pro koncert888,, who was the days biggest winner after playing a 90-minute heads-up match against Brazilian pro verve.oasis and winning a wholesome $87,000. The two played $50/$100 pot-limit Omaha and koncert888's ($81,683.10) biggest pot came when he opened for $300, verve.oasis ($20,598) three-bet to $900, koncert888 called, and the flop came down 5?Q?7?.
The action really heated up at this point as verve.oasis bet $1,200, koncert888 raised to $3,200, verve.oasis three-bet to $11,399.50, and koncert888 four-bet to $39,198. Verve.oasis called off his remaining $8,298.50 and discovered he was in a bad spot:
Showdown
verve.oasis: Q?5?A?J?
koncert888: 5?5?9?A?
Verve.oasis' top and bottom pair was dominated by the flopped set of koncert888 and the former player was left drawing to a queen. The 6? turn was not it, and neither was the A? river. With that, the $41,196 pot was sent to koncert888.
Even though he lost the hand just described, verve.oasis managed to win the biggest hand of the match. His success began when koncert888 ($94,309.30) opened for $300, verve.oasis ($22,268.50) made it $900 to go, and koncert888 made the call, leading to the 9?7?A? flop. Verve.oasis bet $1,349.59, koncert888 raised to $5,848.30, verve.oasis three-bet to $19,344.40, and koncert888 four-bet to $65,681. Verve.oasis had just $2,024.09 behind and made the call.
The board completed with the 6? turn and 10? river, prompting verve.oasis to reveal A?Q?8?4? for the nut flush. Were not sure of koncert888s cards as he mucked, conceding the $44,500 pot. Even with that win, verve.oasis went on to become the days biggest loser by dropping $86,000.
Sunday Belongs to Sussie Smith
On Sunday, the biggest winner of the day was a Swede, and it wasnt Viktor Isildur1 Blom. Sussie Smith won $106,000 in 833 hands of $50/$100 no-limit hold'em. It took nine hours of play, and in that time a number of top pros challenged Sussie Smith including kanu7, Phil takechip DAuteuil, and Sami Lrslzk Kelopuro.
In the biggest hand of the day, Sussie Smith ($52,321.94) was playing four handed when action folded to him in the small blind and he raised to $350. DAuteuil ($54,778.59) was in the big blind and exercised his option with a three-bet to $950, Sussie Smith four-bet to $2,650 and DAuteuil made the call, leading to a flop of 9?3?Q?.
Sussie Smith wasted little time in betting $3,238.80, DAuteuil called and the 6? hit the turn. Again Susie Smith bet, this time $8,312.89, DAuteuil called and the 7? peeled off on the river. Sussie Smith bet $19,950.95, DAuteuil moved all-in for $40,576.90, and Sussie Smith called off his remaining $18,169.29. DAuteuil rolled over A?J? for the missed nut-flush draw, which was easily defeated by the 6?9? two pair of Smith who doubled to $104,643.89.
A $200/$400 no-limit hold'em game sprung up on Saturday, boasting most of the days big hands. In one hand, 0Human0 ($40,000) opened for $1,200 under the gun and was met with a three-bet to $3,200 by mickan1984 ($41,885) from the cutoff. The button and both blinds got out of the way, 0Human0 four-bet to $8,600, and mickan1984 made the call. When the flop fell Q?9?J?, 0Human0 bet $7,200, mickan1984 moved all-in for $33,265, and 0Human0 made the call.
The 5? was put out on the turn followed by the K? river, prompting 0Human0 to roll over A?A?, which was good enough to win the $80,915 pot and mickan1984 simply mucked.
Also of note, verve.oasis managed to recoup his losses from Saturday after winning $90,000 playing nearly 2,000 hands of $25/$50 pot-limit Omaha.
Georgi the Only Big Winner of Tuesday
Tuesday produced only one big winner on PokerStars, Davin mTw-DaviN Georgi, who played 3,000 hands of pot-limit Omaha and won a satisfying $110,000. Approximately $30,000 of that came at the $50/$100 limits, while the rest came at $25/$50. It was in the latter game that he won his biggest pot.
It began when RivalzZz ($16,992.50) raised to $175 on the button and Georgi three-bet to $575 from the small blind. RivalzZz made the call and action was heads up to the 9?2?8? flop, which saw Georgi check-call a bet of $1,100. When the 7? hit the turn, Georgi checked, RivalzZz bet $3,000, and Georgi check-raised to $12,398. RivalzZz moved all-in for $15,317.45, Georgi called off his remaining $1,455.15 and the cards were turned up:
Showdown
Georgi: J?10?10?6?
RivalzZz: 9?7?5?7?
RivalzZz had turned a set of sevens that were no good against Georgi's ten-high straight. With the A? river changing nothing, Georgi took down the $31,106.29 pot.
!P0krparty? Takes on Galfond
On Thursday night and into early Friday morning, !P0krparty? was winning an impressive $333,000 in $25/$50 and $50/$100 pot-limit Omaha against various opponents, with some of it coming against Phil MrSweets28 Galfond, who he challenged at nine heads-up tables. That match was still going on as of this writing, but at press time !P0krparty? had played 4,966 hands spread over 15 sessions, averaging a win of $67.12 per hand. Not too shabby, to say the least.
A few other pros were also in action on Thursday, including Ilari Ilari FIN Sahamies ($83,827.35) and Peter GARFIELD25 Chan ($65,980.94). In fact, the two tangled at a five-handed $50/$100 PLO table in a huge hand that began when Sahamies opened for $450 under the gun, Chan three-bet to $1,600 from the button, Sahamies called, and the flop came down 2?5?9?.
Sahamies checked, Chan bet $2,400, and Sahamies check-raised to $10,648. Chan refused to back down and three-bet to $35,392, Sahamies moved all-in for $82,207.35, and Chan called off his remaining $28,988.95.
Showdown
Chan: A?K?K?4?
Sahamies: A?6?Q?7?
Sahamies had flopped the nut-flush draw with a gut-shot straight draw, and needed to improve against Chan's pocket kings. Unfortunately, the Finn was unable to do so as the 2? appeared on the turn, followed by the 4? on the river, and Chan raked in the $132,000 pot.
