PokerNews Jet Set: PokerStars European Poker Tour Season Nine Part One

2 min read

Last week, PokerStars announced the lineup for its ninth season of the European Poker Tour. We just closed out the eighth season, so we thought it would be a perfect time to have a visual look at the eight stops on the Season Nine schedule.

Barcelona | August 15-25, 2012 | Main Event Buy-in: 5,300

There are few cities in the world where you'll find yourself walking past a buck naked man in the middle of a busy street, but the oh-so-eccentric Barcelona is one of them. PokerStars has kept the traditional end-of-summer timing for the Barcelona stop to kick off the season. The medieval center of Barcelona is one of the most popular destinations in Europe with its prime positioning on the shores of the Mediterranean. Kristy Arnett showed off some of the mesmerizing sights in this quirky town.

San Remo | October 3-11, 2012 | Main Event Buy-in: 5,300

The next stop on the EPT the stunning San Remo, Italy, once again coming straight off the back of the World Series of Poker Europe in Cannes. Last year, Laura Cornelius soaked up sunny San Remo as she took a stroll through the city with the PokerNews camera, showing off the local delights and delicious food.

Prague | December 5-15, 2012 | Main Event Buy-in: 5,300

As the days get chillier, the ideal place to visit is Prague. The stunning city is famed for its Yuletide markets featuring gingerbread and hot wine stalls that create a great Christmas-spirited atmosphere, so there's no surprise that Prague has been kept on the schedule for a sixth year. Kristy Arnett visited the Christmas market, and much more in the following video.

PokerStars Caribbean Adventure | January 6-15, 2013 | Main Event Buy-in: $10,300

OK, so it's not Europe, but it is the pivotal stop of all PokerStars events and a great way to avoid the winter chill of Europe as you ring in the new year. The Atlantis on Paradise Island has been the home of the PCA every year. It boasts the Caribbean's largest casino, a $15 million marina, lagoons, a water park and basically an entire town of its own. Sarah Grant and Kristy Arnett deliver a joined tour around the incredible resort.

Check back next week for the second half of the EPT schedule destination guide, as we look at Deauville, London, Berlin and Monte Carlo.
