Bally Technologies Gets First Recommendation for an Online Gaming License in Nevada
The Las Vegas Review-Journal is reporting that slot machine maker Bally Technologies was recommended by state gaming regulators to "receive an interactive gaming license as a manufacturer of online gaming systems."
The Gaming Control Board, which is made up of three members, made the approval after an hour-long hearing. According to the LVRJ, this marked the first time since interactive gaming regulations were approved in Nevada that a license was OK'd by the Gaming Control Board.
"This is a historic day for Bally Technologies, for Nevada, and for the gaming industry," said Bally Technologies' Chief Executive Officer Richard Haddrill in a press release. "We are very grateful for the Board's recommendation and are excited about being the first company recommended by a U.S. state for licensing to offer online gaming products and services."
The recommendation will be reviewed by the Nevada Gaming Commission on June 21, where a final decision will be made.
"We are proud to achieve yet another milestone in our 80-year history and look forward to further supporting our Nevada casino customers with our technology in this exciting arena," Haddrill added.
If the NGC approves the recommendation, Bally Technologies' iGaming platform will be offered to casino operators so they can provide online gaming, and mobile integration to players.
