On Wednesday, the World Poker Tour announced two new stops to the upcoming Season XI schedule.

The tour will touch down in the Southern Hemisphere for the first time ever with the WPT Emperors Palace Poker Classic in Johannesburg, South Africa, from Oct. 22 through 26. The $3,500 buy-in re-entry event will take place at the Emperors Palace Hotel Casino Convention Entertainment Resort, and is expected to draw many of the game's top players from all corners of the globe.

Then, from Nov. 23 through 26, the WPT will return to Canada for the first time since 2008 with the WPT Montreal event at Playground Poker Club in Quebec. The event, sponsored by PartyPoker.net, features a CAD$3,300 buy-in with an opportunity to re-enter on Day 2. Playground Poker representatives Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak, and Erik Cajelais are among the pros expected to participate.

We are thrilled to be adding two exciting new events to our Season XI schedule, said WPT CEO Steve Heller. As our first event in the Southern Hemisphere, WPT Emperors Palace Poker Classic is a ground-breaking step into uncharted territory for World Poker Tour, while WPT Montreal marks a long-awaited return to one of the great poker centers in the world.
