In this edition of the PokerNews What To Watch For from the 2012 World Series of Poker, one event has made it down to its final scheduled day of play. That event is Event 44: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em. With 16 players remaining, Thomas Conway leads the way.

Stammen in the Hunt for Second Bracelet

Not many people know about Keven Stammen, although he is a regular on the tournament circuit and also a WSOP gold bracelet winner. In 2009, Stammen won the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em event for over $500,000 and etched his name in the WSOP history books. He looks to carve it a bit deeper by winning his second gold bracelet in Event 44.

Entering the third day of play, Stammen is seventh out of the final 16 with above average chips. He's one of those young players in the game who's quietly put up plenty of results, especially at the WSOP where he has 16 cashes and over $660,000 in earnings. He'll be looking to outlast the other 15 competitors en route to winning his second WSOP title.

Berner Doing It for the Ladies

It seems every other final table at the 2012 WSOP has a woman at it. Anke Berner is down to the final two tables of this event and is only a handful of eliminations away from reaching the final table. She'd become yet another woman to do so, which is a testament to the growth of female popularity in the game.

Berner is from Germany and has no WSOP cashes on record, making this an impressive first for her. Earlier in the event when she was short, Berner said, "I came here to play just one hand and now I'm still here," she said. "Even if I go out right now, that's okay. I had a lot of fun." She enters the final day sixth in chips.
