2013 World Poker Tour Baden Day 1b: Cosic Leads as 75 of 150 Advance
On Wednesday, the World Poker Tour Baden �3,300 Main Event continued with Day 1b action from the Casino Baden, which is located 23 kilometers from Vienna, the capital of Austria. Day 1a of the tournament attracted 104 players and saw 56 advance, while Day 1b drew 150 entrants, including 24 re-entries. That created a prize pool of $1,031,041 with $271,258 of that reserved for the eventual winner.
After eight 60-minute levels of play, 75 competitors punched their tickets to Day 2 including chip leader Senadin Cosic, who bagged up 135,800. Nipping at his heels was Daniele Scatragil, who bagged 135,700, but both still trail the 149,700 of Day 1a chip leader Kimmo Kurko.

Day 1b kicked off with a bang when Martin Sturc woke up with AxAx in the first level and got action from Lauri Pesonen, who held KxKx. The two got it all in, and much to Sturc��s dismay, Pesonen found a king to force the first elimination of the day.
According to the WPT Live Updates Team, a big pot developed on a flop of 4?9?9? in Level 2 with the blinds at 75/150. Alios Weiss had bet 2,000, and Ronan Gilligan raised. Kaspars Renga then three-bet, and Weiss moved all in. Gilligan moved all in over the top, and Renga folded the A?A? face up. It proved to be a wise fold because Weiss held the J?9? and Gilligan the 4?4?. The 2? was of no consequence, but the J? river was as Weiss spiked a bigger full house to send Gilligan to the rail.
In Level 3, WPT Champions Club member Michael ��The Grinder�� Mizrachi opened under the gun with the J?10? and received a call from an unknown player. Daniel Scatragu then three-bet from the button with 10x4x, some calls ensued, and the flop fell K?10?4?. Sergey Vasilyev, who held AxKx, led out with a bet, and Mizrachi responded by moving all in for 11,000. Scatragu then moved all in over the top with two pair, and Vasilyev got out of the way. Mizrachi could still win with either a spade or jack but was left with nothing as the 8? blanked on the turn, followed by the 3? on the river.
From there, the elimination continued to mount as Vasilyev, Thomas Dolezal, Ben Juhasz, James Parker, Besim Hot, Stefan Gulyas, Pascal Vos, Jan Ramik, Thomas Muhlocker, Hamid Hosseini, Harald Indrich, Emeric Styevlik, Marek Blasko, Salman Behbehani and Manig Loeser all hit the rail.
Loeser, who was firing his second bullet after being eliminated on Day 1a, was sent packing in Level 5 (150/300/50) when he got his stack all in preflop holding the K?K? only to run into the A?A? of Elena Banas. The board ran out 10?9?6?4?3?, and Loeser exited the tournament floor, but not before Heinrich Leuzinger said, ��I folded pocket nines.��
Another player who failed to make the most of their re-entry was Artem Litvinov.
In Level 7, with the blinds at 250/500/75, PartyPoker��s Bodo Sbrzesny opened to 1,000 preflop and received three calls, bringing about a flop of A?K?3?. Action checked to Sbrzesny, and he continued for 2,200. Only Christian Golob called, and it was heads-up action to the J? turn. Sbrzesny bet 3,600, Golob raised to 12,000, and Sbrzesny made it 26,000 to go. Golob then moved all in, and Sbrzesny snap-called. Golob turned over the 3?3? for a set, but he was drawing dead as Sbrzesny held the Q?10? for a royal flush. The meaningless A? was run out on the river for good measure, and Golob was eliminated while Sbrzesny went on to finish the day with a healthy stack of 124,800.
Others who made it through to Day 2 were Mickey Peterson (19,400), Zoltan Szabo (32,000), Martin Staszko (61,500), Marton Czuczor (95,000), Julian Herold (97,000) and Paul Berende (98,900).
