FTOPS XXII Day 12: Chris "maxxscam" Back and Bolivar "Ramux" Palacios Win Gold
Day 12 of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) XXII was a bit quiet with only two tournaments on the slate. But Chris "maxxscam" Back made some serious noise, winning Event #30 for $23,800 and nearly making the final table in Event #31, eventually bubbling in 10th place.
Back bested a field of 560 in the afternoon $216 No-Limit Hold'em Event to win his second career FTOPS title. In FTOPS XVI in 2010, Back won the $322 Pot-Limit Omaha Heads-Up event for $43,500. He defeated "3p3nipa" heads-up for the title on Thursday.
A few hours later, Back was sitting on the final table bubble of Event #31 with 10 players remaining but was unable to reach back-to-back finals (no pun intended). Notables David "betudontbet" Emmons, John "kleath" Leathart and Bolivar "Ramux" Palacios (pictured) were among the final nine, and Palacios went on to win the title for $15,900. The victory was his first in an FTOPS event, but the biggest FTOPS score for this highly regarded player from Panama came during FTOPS XX when he took runner-up in a $1,000 no-limit hold'em event for $64,510.
There were no changes atop the FTOPS XXII Leaderboard as "galinka02" kept his lead over Mark "xqsays" Radoja, Christer "Betong" Johansson, John "kleath" Leathart, among others. The leaderboard winner will be rewarded after the conclusion of the FTOPS Main Event with an $11,000 packages for FTOPS XXIII plus a custom Full Tilt Poker avatar.
