FTOPS XXII Day 14: Main Event Begins Sunday; "-GROMOV DMITRY-" Leads High Roller
The Full Tilt Online Poker Series XXII continued Sunday with three more events, two of which came to a conclusion late in the evening. Champions were crowned in Event #35 and Event #36, while the prestigious two-day $2,100 No-Limit Hold'em event played down to the money.
Event #34 was a multi-entry event which saw a total of 776 entries post the $2,100 buy-in, creating a prize pool of $1,552,000. Many of online poker's top tournament players performed well and were still alive when the money bubble burst. The day ended with 84 players left and Russia's "-GROMOV DMITRY-" leading the way with 166,288 in chips. He was followed closely by Kevin "-1SickDisease-" Eyster with 160,645. FTOPS XXII comes to a close Sunday with two more events plus the conclusion of the two-day High Roller. The $640 re-entry Main Event kicks off at 13:30 ET and features a $2 million prize pool. The leaderboard winner will also be determined; with another cash on Saturday, John "kleath" Leathart took the lead in the standings over Poland's "galinka02." Leathart leads by five points going into the final day. The winner will receive an $11,000 package for FTOPS XXIII and a custom Full Tilt Poker avatar.
