For the past week, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, has been playing host to the World Poker Tour, and now the property has made even bigger waves in the poker world. According to SouthFlorida.com, the casino will host a $10 million guaranteed tournament.

Appropriately called the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open, the $5,300 buy-in tournament will take place from August 22 through 29 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood and cost $5,300 to enter.

This destination deserves a tournament like this, Seminole Gaming COO Larry Mullin told SouthFlorida.com. He went on to add, The Hard Rock and the Seminoles serve as a global brand that will always be striving to bring the best in games, hospitality and entertainment to South Florida. As that leader, you can utilize events such as this one to remind people about what great products we have.

The tournament is designed to emphasize poker at the property and hopes to attract 2,000 players the amount needed to meet the $10 million guarantee which is about four times the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdowns 542-player field.

Unbelievable, just unbelievable, its gonna be sick, said poker player Dan Suied to SouthFlorida.com after learning of the announcement while playing the WPT event.

William Mason, Seminole Hard Rock director of poker, elaborated that the $10 million guarantee, which expects to award $1.7 million to the winner, will be a part of a series in August. In addition, the five other Seminole poker rooms throughout the state will host satellite tournaments. Despite the enormity of the tournament, there are no plans for it to air on television.
