The PokerNews Mid-States Poker Tour has announced Blake Bohn as the first member of its Pro Team.

In 2013, Bohn broke through with the largest score of his career by winning the Chicago Poker Classic Main Event, outlasting 392 entrants to earn $288,171 of the $1.2 million prize pool.

Blake is one of the hardest-working players in the industry, said Bryan Mileski, MSPT founder and president. He has the perfect combination of skill, drive, dedication and fearlessness.

Born in Savage, Minnesota, Bohn began his professional poker playing career in 2004 focusing primarily on high-limit holdem cash games while sprinkling in an occasional tournament. After some modest tournament success, Bohn made a commitment in 2010 to put more time and effort into no-limit holdem tournaments, which included playing, traveling and studying more.

Since then, Bohn has been doing very well on the felt, amassing six titles and $667,685 in tournament earnings over the last three years. In the summer of 2011, Bohn ran deep in the World Series of Poker Main Event, placing 126th of 6,865 entrants for $54,851. In total, Bohn has $750,301 in lifetime earnings, 39 cashes and six titles.

I am proud to be the Team MSPT lead pro, Bohn said. I am excited about this partnership and cant wait to get started.

Bohn is widely considered to be one of the top professional poker players in the Midwest, and the PokerNews Mid-States Poker Tour is proud to have this rising star as a member of Team MSPT.
