2013 APPT Macau Day 2: Yan Cui Leads on the Money Bubble; Jay Tan Close Behind
Day 2 of the 2013 APPT Macau Main Event came to a close with 49 players sitting directly on the money bubble. In the last hand of the day, three tables had all-in players at risk, and when the hands were over, two were sent to the rail and one survived. The remaining players will return Saturday hoping to secure a minimum payday of HKD34,600 (US$4,457).
It was a very entertaining day as 162 runners battled for seven levels. Yan Cui took the chip lead at the end of the day, finishing with 484,000. He rocketed up the leaderboard after clashing with Roger Spets, moving him to just under 400,000, before he added more later in the night.
Hot on his heels are Jay Tan (484,000) and David Man (451,000). It looked like Man would take the honors of biggest stack after he and Ivan Zalac created a pot that reached almost 300,000 in chips. His aggression didnt stop there, as he took out several more players toward the end of the day.
Tan is one of three women still left in the field. She quietly climbed the ranks on Friday and will be joined by PokerStars Team Pro Vivian Im (133,000) and local player Sixiao Juicy Li (89,500) when play resumes on Saturday.
