Fabian Craib

After almost 12 hours of play on Day 2 at the PokerStars.net ANZPT Melbourne Repechage Main Event, the nine-handed final table was in place.

The day started with 98 players taking to the felt, and when it was all said and done the final nine included Australian stars Michael Kanaan, Daniel Neilson and Fabian Craib. Craib began the day amongst the leaders and constructed the biggest stack by the time the day came to a close. Meanwhile, Kanaan managed to battle his way from short stack to big stack and is right on Craib's heels.

The last hand of the night saw Craib open to 125,000 from the button, and Dave Allen moved all in for 1,100,000 from the blinds. Craig snap-called and both players tabled their cards.

Craib: Q?Q?
Allen: K?10?

The board ran out 9?4?10?4?5? and Craib's pocket queens held up, sending Allen to the rail in 10th place ($10,975). That hand also allowed Craib to steal the chip lead from Kanaan.

Also present on the table is Iori Yogo, who by making the final table in this event has passed Dejan Divkovic as the current leader in the race to be crowned the ANZ Player of the Year for Season 5.

Another player to keep an eye on is Anthony Hachem, son of 2004 WSOP Main Event champion Joe Hachem. After finishing Day 1b with the chip lead, Hachem kept his composure throughout Day 2, and with a large rail following him in the last few hours of the night, didnt disappoint as he cruised to the final table.
