Day 2 began with 1,189 players and the chip leader was Paul Volpe, who final tabled two events in Season X. Volpe took a hit at the start of the day, losing a blind-versus-blind pot with Ax10x on an AxAx3x flop. He was then verbally assaulted by a tablemate later in the day, and the player was disqualified.

Volpe ended the day 27th in chips with 337,700.

Also surviving the day were 2013 World Series of Poker bracelet winner Cliff Johnny Bax Josephy, November Niner Ryan Riess, 2013 PCA Super High Roller winner Scott Seiver, Vanessa Selbst, Mukul Pahuja, Victor Ramdin, Jared Jaffee, and David Diaz.

Selbst picked up a pot against the aforementioned Patel during Level 11 (500/1,000/100). Selbst check-raised to 21,200 on a board of A?5?3?6?, Patel called, and the 3? completed the board. Selbst bet roughly half of the pot, Patel called, and Selbst took it down with A?5? for aces up.

Seiver busted a player in Level 13 when he turned top two against an overpair of aces. The river was a brick, and the player hit the rail. Josephy also recorded a knockout during the late stages of the evening, winning an all-in hand with AxJx against an opponents KxJx.

Among the eliminations were Lee Childs, Todd Terry, Loni Harwood, Vinny Pahuja, Danny Miami Boss Suied, Russell Crane, Keven Stammen, Kevin Saul, Matt Affleck, and Kara Scott.

Scott moved all in during the last level of the evening with AxJx, and was called by Brent Roberts with two kings. The kings held up, and Scott hit the rail. Childs got in 22 big blinds with AxKx against an opponents pocket jacks and was unable to win the race for his tournament life. Pahuja was also eliminated with AxKx, but he was up against pocket queens and pocket aces. And Harwood lost a flip with pocket nines against an opponents KxJx.

Day 3 will begin at noon EDT, and PokerNews will provide a recap of the action once the day is complete.
