$10,300 Bellagio Special Event to Feature $100,000 First-Place Guarantee
On Friday, Nov. 8, Bellagio Poker Room in Las Vegas will host a two-day $10,300 eight-handed tournament. Dubbed the Bellagio Special Event, this tournament will feature a $100,000 first-place guarantee that is sure to attract some of the top players from across the country.
Director of Poker Operations Craig Lumpp spoke to PokerNews and confirmed that the special big buy-in tournament is in no way affiliated with the upcoming World Poker Tour series to be held in December.
Lumpp said, We are running this tournament simply because we had some local regulars approach us asking for a large buy-in two-day event. Well be using it to see what kind of interest we draw and try to build it up from there. Lumpp continued, I see the potential growth with this type of special event.
Although no confirmation could be given as to who has already registered for this event, Lumpp says, We do have more than a handful of registered participants and you can expect to see both local regulars and pros alike.
One player expected to play is David Doc Sands, who is no stranger to Bellagio poker tournaments. In fact, Sands has cashed in 10 events held by the Bellagio Poker Room including a first-place finish in the Festa Al Lago Main Event just this September and his most recognized first-place score in the WPT World Championship Super High Roller, in which Sands earned just over $1 million for the achievement.
The Bellagio Special Event is set to kick off Friday at 12 p.m. local Las Vegas time with a $10,300 buy-in. There will be reentry allowed.
Heres a look at the tournament structure and payouts.
