Cal "cal42688" Anderson Retakes Top Online Spot from Chris "moorman1" Moorman
Chris moorman1 Moormans one-week reign atop PocketFives.com's online poker rankings came to an end on Wednesday courtesy of Calvin cal42688 Anderson. This marks the eighth time Anderson, who was last in the top spot on October 23, has been the No. 1 ranked online poker in the world.
"With the state of the game and so many upcoming, hard-working, and talented players, being ranked No. 1 on PocketFives is a prestigious accomplishment, especially if held for a long period of time," Anderson told PokerNews. "Its an intrinsic achievement that I find very fulfilling. Its something that money can't buy, nor that you get rewarded for externally. Thats what poker and other games should be about. The best players are the ones that don't do it for the money; they do it for the love of the game."
Heres a look at this weeks top 10 online players:
Place | Player | Points |

According to PocketFives, Anderson cashed in 47 tournaments last month for $38,000, including a win in the PartyPoker $30,000 Guaranteed Sunday for $6,100 at the end of September. Nine months ago, Andersons 22-week stretch atop the rankings came to an end, which was the second-longest streak ever behind Chad M8kingmoves Batista's 45-week stretch from 2007 to 2008.
"Throughout WCOOP I grinded pretty hard and it was my goal to get back to No. 1," Anderson said. "Towards the end of WCOOP I got back up there. Since then I haven't really been playing that much, so most of my points are from the past. I am looking forward to seeing how things pan out on the leader board. Although its not something Im directly shooting for right now, dropping down in the rankings might motivate me to grind a little harder."
Moorman has been making noise in the poker world in the past couple months for several reasons. At the end of September, he won a $215 buy-in event on partypoker to become the first player to surpass $10 million in lifetime career online earnings. According to PocketFives, no other player has even earned more than $7.5 million playing online tournaments.
Two weeks later, the British superstar took down the Full Tilt Poker Sunday Brawl, a victory that earned him his unprecedented 17th Triple Crown as recognized by PocketFives.com. This award celebrates poker players who win three tournaments on three separate sites over a seven-day period. Each tournament must have a prize pool of at least $10,000 with at least 100 players in the field.
"I know that getting back to the top has been a goal of Moormans and I was glad to see him accomplish that," Anderson said. "He's been working extremely hard over the past six months and I am really happy for him and his recent success."
Only two players have won more than 10 Triple Crowns over the past eight years the other being Peter "Belabacsi" Traply with 11 Triple Crowns.
At the end of September, Moorman also launched a brand new interactive website that features a blog with bi-weekly posts and behind-the-scenes videos and photos.
