Gary Loveman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Caesars Entertainment Corporation, is clearly in favor of online gaming, while Sands CEO Sheldon Adelson has publicly declared he will do everything in his power to stop it. So how does Las Vegas legend and Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Office of Wynn Resorts, Limited Steve Wynn feel about online gaming?

According to KSNV MyNews3 out of Las Vegas, Wynn is undecided on the matter and will adopt a sit-back-and-wait approach.

I am neither a proponent or opponent of it. Im an observer of this process, and the chairman of a public company that is required to pay attention to such things, Wynn said. But whether it becomes the wave of the future is seriously in doubt. I mean, theres a question about that, and that question has to be answered on a number of levels including the federal government.

In regards to Adelson, Wynn said: [Adelson] doesn't think it's a good idea because of lack of control. He's got a point that resonates with a lot of people. On the other hand, playing poker is America and outlawing poker is like the Volstead Act when they outlawed beer: people do it anyway. He went on to add: Its questionable whether Sheldon will be able to stop it, which is not to say that he is wrong. I just think this sort of thing has a life of its own.

Indeed, with the recent launch of iGaming in New Jersey, which offers six gaming sites, three states have online gaming up and running. Nevada and Delaware are the other two, with the former having two poker-only sites operating and the latter three sites.

I'm not sure, as I stand here, where online gaming is going, Wynn said, admitting that he has heard from 40 states that have expressed interest in online gaming, including California, Illinois, and New York. Within the state of New Jersey it's legal. It's status in America is much in doubt.
