Vienna Replaces Berlin as Sixth Stop on European Poker Tour Season 10 0001

For the first time in three years, the European Poker Tour will return to the Austrian capital of Vienna. The spectacular Hofburg Palace, the former imperial residence, will play host to the sixth stop of the EPT Season 10 from March 19-29, 2014. Vienna will take the place of Berlin, Germany on the Season 10 schedule.

Due to a unique opportunity in Vienna, we have decided to change the location of the sixth EPT stop this year, said EPT President Edgar Stuchly. The Hofburg Palace is a spectacular venue with a grand history, and moving the EPT there enables us to offer a great player experience. The venue can fit over 100 tables and we will be able to provide an amazing tournament schedule with a wide variety of games including cash games in the Hofburg.

The EPT Vienna Festival will be operated in partnership with the Concord Card Casino Group, which operates 13 poker rooms in Austria and has more than 20 years of experience. The schedule will follow the standard Season 10 EPT festival format with tournaments in a variety of buy-in levels including a 5,300 Main Event and 10,300 High Roller.

This marks the third time that the EPT has hosted an event in Vienna. The most recent event was won by 20-year-old German student Michael "mae9690" Eiler who pocketed 700,000 after beating a 578-player field, including a final table with Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu. As it was, after more than 10 hours later, Negreanu was gone in fourth place and the economics student and former Sunday Million winner emerged with the title.

As always, the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to bring you all the live updates from Season 10 of the EPT.
