Golden Nugget Approved to Offer Internet Gambling in New Jersey
After a short delay, the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City received approval to offer Internet gambling in New Jersey on Friday. Powered by the software of Bally Technologies, the Golden Nugget is now permitted to offer online gambling to people located within the Garden State lines.
The Golden Nugget becomes the seventh out of 12 casinos in the Garden State to gain approval for online gambling, joining Borgata, Tropicana, Trump Taj Mahal, Trump Plaza, Caesars Atlantic City, and Ballys Atlantic City. Each of the other six casinos have been in business since the launch of the New Jersey iGaming market on Nov. 26, but the Nugget was not approved after the five-day trial period. The casino cited glitches in its online slot play as the reason for the delay.
Now authorized, the Golden Nugget will offer real-money online gambling under the following domains:
- nj-casino.goldennuggetcasino.com
- nj-poker.goldennuggetcasino.com
The Golden Nugget's approval comes one day after PokerStars' application in New Jersey was suspended by the New Jersey Department of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) for two years. PokerStars partnered with Resorts Club Casino in July, hoping that the brick-and-mortar casino could serve as the hub of the company's return to the U.S.
