European Poker Tour Announces 45-Event Deauville Schedule
From Jan. 22 through Feb. 1, 2014, the European Poker Tour will visit the beautiful Casino Barri?re in Deauville, France. The festival will include the France Poker Series (FPS) Season 3 Grand Final from Jan. 22 through 26, and will feature the FPS �1,100 Main Event with a guaranteed �500,000 prize pool, a �2,500 FPS High Roller, a �10,300 EPT High Roller, and of course the EPT �5,300 Main Event.
In addition, the 12th edition of the Global Poker Index (GPI) European Poker Awards will be held as part of the EPT Deauville festival on Jan. 29. The event will once again bring together Europe's top pros and those working in the industry to celebrate the best of European poker.
"The European Poker Awards are going to recognize the best performers in European poker over the last year," said Alexandre Dreyfus, President of the Global Poker Index. "It's a celebration of the players: their achievements, their contests, and their efforts throughout 2013,"
"The event will be open to players, spectators and media, and it will be a great opportunity to showcase our sport to the public: whether you are a poker player or not, this event is an important part of showing that poker is a fun, safe and competitive game that anyone can play," said Dreyfus.
The EPT will be visiting Deauville for a seventh time, but this will be the first time the international min-raise rule will be enforced allowing players to make smaller raises and have more pre-flop betting action.
Last year Remi Castaignon took down the EPT9 Deauville Main Event after besting a field of 782 players to pocket the �770,000 first prize, becoming the eighth French player to pick up an EPT title.
