2014 WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open Day 1b: Jaime Rubinsteyn Takes Overall Lead
The 2014 World Poker Tour Lucky Hearts Poker Open continued on Saturday with the second Day 1 flight at the at the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino in Florida. After 183 entries were recorded on Day 1a, another 223 were accounted for on Day 1b. The 415 total entries created a prize pool of $1,348,750, with the eventual winner taking home $271,103.
The player best positioned to claim that top prize is Jaime Rubinsteyn (pictured), who bagged 234,600 in chips after Day 1b. Rubinsteyn led the 95 players who survived the day, all of whom will return Sunday to join the 74 players who advanced on Day 1a.

After a frustrating Day 1a, thee-time WPT final tablist Dan Heimiller returned with a vengeance on Day 1b. Heimiller bagged 178,900 when the day came to a close, placing him among the leaders. According to the WPT Live Updates, Heimiller crossed the 100,000-chip mark in Level 5. With the blinds at 150/300/50, Heimiller raised to 800 from the hijack and three players called to see a flop of 10?8?3?. Action checked to Heimiller, who bet 2,200, and only the player in the big blind called. The 7? hit the turn and Heimiller bet 4,400. His opponent called, and the 4? peeled off on the river. This time the big blind led out for 6,000, but Heimiller continued his aggression by raising to 28,000. The other payer folded, and Heimiller increased his stack to 112,000.
Several big names will join Heimiller on Day 2, including Chance Kornuth (123,900), Ronnie Bardah (85,000), Byron Kaverman (72,900), Mike Linster (61,800), Keven Stammen (48,200), Jonathan Aguiar (41,200), and David Diaz (16,900).
Among the notables who busted on Day 1b were David Paredes, Alex Venovski, Noah Schwartz, Andy Seth, Will Failla, Aaron Massey, Marsha Wolak, Barry Hutter, Andy Hwang, Ryan Fair, and Zo Karim.
