Global Poker Index

Each week, the Global Poker Index releases a list of the top 300 tournament poker players in the world using a formula that takes into account a player's results over six half-year periods. The GPI also ranks the top performers of the year over two six-month periods as calculated by the USA Today Global Poker Index point system.

For a look at both lists, visit the official GPI website.

Keven Stammen remains the clear leader, and he is trailed by 2013 GPI Player of the Year Ole Schemion.

Byron Kaverman leapfrogged fellow American Vanessa Selbst, moving up to No. 4 in the world. Kaverman already has over $1.3 million in live tournament earnings in 2014, finishing runner-up in the Season XII WPT World Championship.

Top British pro Sam Trickett squeaks into the top 300 thanks to a min-cash at the EPT Grand Final. Trickett of course finished runner-up in the inaugural $1 Million BIG ONE for ONE DROP, earning over $10.1 million, and will be participating in the seven-figure buy-in event once again.

Also returning to the GPI 300 are Greg Mueller, Vinny Pahuja, and James Carroll. Mueller plays his highest volume during the WSOP, so the next two months are a good opportunity for him to climb the GPI ranks.

Exiting the GPI this week are Atanas Kavrakov, Tom Alner, Darryl Ronconi, Joey Weissman, Stephane Benadiba, Tom Dobrilovic, and Jean-Noel Thorel.
