UKIPT Nottingham High Roller Ends in a Chop

Two of the UK��s most prominent professional players agreed to chop the UKIPT Nottingham High Roller and take an even ��68,000 each.

The ��3,300 buy-in event saw 86 unique entries and 15 rebuys, which helped beat the ��300,000 guarantee by ��2,650. The last men standing were World Poker Tour Dublin champion and double World Championship Of Online Poker winner Dave Shallow and Richard Kellett.

Shallow went down in the history books as the tournament��s champion by virtue of having more chips at the time of the deal, but both players agreed to an even chop citing being tired and wanting to save themselves for the UKIPT Nottingham Main Event.

Zimnan Ziyard Wins the PokerStars Sunday 500

Even without any major online festivals, such as SCOOP and FTOPS taking place, Sunday is the busiest day for online poker tournament grinders. It is the day with the biggest fields and the richest prize pools �� prize pools that British players seem to have an almost unnatural ability to claim plenty of.

One of the biggest British winners this Sunday was former European Poker Tour Loutraki champion Zimnan ��Zimmy86�� Ziyard, who took down the Sunday 500 for a bankroll-building $86,176.40.

Duncan McLellan Wins UKIPT Nottingham Main Event

Duncan McLellan isn��t your typical poker player. Three years ago, the 49-year-old builder from Corby, Northampton didn��t even know the rules to poker, yet this week he won the UKIPT Nottingham Main Event to add to the UKIPT title he won in the Isle of Mann. This latest victory netted McLellan ��202,372 after he outlasted 1,223 players in the ��1,100 buy-in Main Event, the largest-ever UKIPT event.

Brits Continue to Crush SCOOP

The 2014 Spring Championship of Online Poker has been extremely kind to British grinders, many of who have banked huge scores over the past week or so.

Ashley Mason, John O��Shea and Talal Shakerchi all won SCOOP titles at the start of the week, while Ben ��f3nix35�� Dobson and Martin Malone helped themselves to six-figure scores.

The often controversial Luke Schwartz won his second SCOOP title in the $2,100 Fixed-Limit Hold��em event, while Ireland��s Cathal Shine emerged victorious in the Super Tuesday and netted himself almost $77,000.
