In less than one week, the Hollywood Poker Open Championship Event will kick off at the M Resort in Las Vegas. The $2,500 buy-in tournament, which features a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool, will begin on June 27 and conclude on June 29. Like last year, many top pros already settled down in Las Vegas are expected to participate, including HPO ambassador Chris Moneymaker.

The Season 2 Championship in Las Vegas will see even more seat winners participating with the addition of six new regional stops and increased local promotions at Penn National Gaming properties over the past eight months.

Even more seats will be handed out this week. Beginning on June 25, the M Resort will host eight no-limit holdem satellites to the $2,500 Main Event. Each qualifier will have a buy-in of $235 and guarantee at least one seat.

We had strong momentum following a successful Season 1 of the Hollywood Poker Open last year, and that has continued with each regional event this year, said Gaye Gullo, Vice President of Marketing for Penn National Gaming. Our players value the numerous opportunities to get in on the action for the Hollywood Poker Open. Offering a Las Vegas Championship is icing on the cake for whats grown to be a well-respected tournament series, and were proud of that.

Last year, Ana Marquez outlasted a field of 631 to collect the top prize of $320,189 in the Hollywood Poker Open Championship Event. She was joined by an all-star cast at the final table, and eventually defeated Ryan Tepen heads-up for the title.

Also reaching the first-ever Hollywood Poker Open Main Event final table were Kory Kilpatrick (3rd for $129,641), Ramzi Jelassi (4th for $90,080), Sam Stein (5th for $65,461) and Max Greenwood (6th for $50,803).
