The PPC North America Championship will be taking place July 10-20, 2014 at the Tampa Bay Downs Silks Poker Room in Tampa, FL with several events spanning that time period. Highlighting the series is a $580 buy-in Main Event with four starting flights and a guaranteed prize pool of $200,000.

The series kicks off on July 10 with a $30 Main Event Satellite. Then on Friday, July 11, a $50,000 guaranteed $175 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Kickoff event will take place.

For the Main Event, action will begin on Friday, July 18 and run through Sunday, July 20. On Friday and Saturday, two starting flights will take place on each day, with one beginning at 1 p.m. local time and the other at 7 p.m. Day 2 will take place on Sunday beginning at 3 p.m., and PokerNews will be on hand to provide live coverage from all three days.

Over 100 players have already qualified for the $580 Main Event, and the top four finishes in the tournament will each receive a $5,000 PPC Aruba World Championship package that includes:

  • $2,200 buy-in to the $200,000 guaranteed Main Event
  • $200 buy-in to the $15,000 guaranteed event
  • $100 buy-in to the $5,000 guaranteed event
  • Seven-night stay at Radisson Aruba Resort
  • $400 for travel

Forty players have already won PPC Aruba World Championship packages, and they'll be locking horns on the island felt with Team PPC pros Joe Serock, Ronnie Bardah, Chris Bolek, Steve Karp, and Joe Ebanks.

Many players have confirmed traveling to the event from both New York and Las Vegas, and Alex Outhred has joined Team PPC as the featured blogger and instructor at most PPC Poker Tour stops.

Outhred is a professional poker player and renowned trainer who will host a dynamic, one-table training session that will develop into a one-table qualifier for the PPC North America Championship Main Event. He was the original developer of the curriculums and live-training techniques featured at the WSOP Academy and the WPT Boot Camps. With a fourth-place finish in a WPT event for $184,745 and a 54th-place finish in the WSOP Main Event for $135,100 amongst his credits, he made a name for himself as an elite instructor and strategy writer for several publications.
