Slovakia's Martin Meciar Wins Eureka4 Rozvadov Main Event 0001

On Tuesday, Slovakia's Martin Meciar bested a field of 493 players to win the Eureka4 Rozvadov Main Event for 93,600. As expected this event had a smaller field than the recent record-breaking Eureka Vienna Main Event in March. The 493 players each contributing a 1,000 + 100 buy-in resulted a 7,000 overlay on the advertised 500,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Seventy-one players finished in the money. Here is a look at the Eureka4 Vienna Final Table Results:

According to the PokerStars blog, Meciar entered the final table as the chip leader and never looked back. The final table lasted only four levels, making it one of the quickest final tables in recent memory.

Dawid Mysiewicz was the first casualty on the final table just 25 minutes into play when his big slick couldn't improve against Sasch Ranzinger's pocket queens. Ranzinger then went on to eliminate EPT Season 7 Vienna winner Michael Eiler, dashing his hopes to become the first player to accomplish a Eureka/EPT double when his A?K? held against his opponent's A?J?.

Michael Eiler

Immediately after Eiler's exit, Bert Geens was eliminated in sixth place when his untimely three-bet shove with Q?10? didn't get there against Meciar's A?A?.

Germany's Christian Jambor appeared to be card dead most of the final table and seemed primed to double up when he was all-in preflop with A?Q? against Ranzinger's A?3?. Jambor was ahead most of the hand with a 2?10?6? flop. The 5? appeared on the turn opening up new straight draw outs for Ranzinger. The 4? on the river gave Ranzinger the runner runner straight and sent Jambor off to the rail in 5th place.

Ranzinger's luck was not to last as he was the next player to end his day. Ranzinger and Meciar were busy battling it out and eventually they came to a head, much to Ranzinger's demise. Ranzinger 5-bet all in preflop with J?10? and found himself well behind when Meciar called with K?K?. Ranzinger was off packing in 4th place while Meciar now found himself with a majority of chips in play 3-handed.

While many on the final table were working hard to find spots to accumulate chips leading to their demise, Austria's Beatrix Wolfsberger was a short-stack most of the final table. She eventually finished the tournament in 3rd place when J?9? didn't improve against Meciar's A?10?.

Meciar found himself in an enviable spot with a five-to-one chip lead against Michael-David Passy. The heads-up match lasted only three hands when Passy fell into Meciar's limp trap when he shoved 8?5?. Meciar's Q?Q? held, earning 87,600 for the victory with Passy settling for a nice runner's up prize of 65,000.

Season 4 of the Eureka Poker Tour continues with Eureka Prague, which has yet to set firm dates.
