The 1 million guarantee partypoker WPT500 at Dusk Till Dawn concluded this past weekend as Eleanor Gudger topped a massive field of 2,133 entrants from seven starting flights to capture the 140,000 first-place prize.

Im so excited, its been a great three days of poker, Gudger said after the win. To come out on top of 2,000-odd players is just unbelievable.

The recently-engaged Gudger, who hails from Leicester and turned professional 18 months ago, defeated Matthew silentnoonan Noonan in heads-up play. Interestingly, Gudger had previously taught her father, John Gudger, how to play poker, and in December of 2013 he took down the partypoker WPT National UK London for 12,750. Clearly poker runs in the family.

With 2,133 entries, everybody here at Dusk Till Dawn is thrilled for making the first WPT500 in Europe a huge success. We extended the capacity of the club and filled every single seat, and the atmosphere was unbelievable, said Simon Trumper, Club Director at Dusk Till Dawn. This event was a record-breaker for the club and WPT. Not only did Day 1F break the record for the most unique entries ever in a single day (673 unique entries) at Dusk Till Dawn, but we smashed the record for the biggest field ever for a 500 buy-in event organized in Europe.

The event also awarded the top 50 players seats into the 3,000 buy-in partypoker WPT UK Main Event. Among those to secure a seat were Paul Murphy (41st - $4,761), Willie Tan (35th - $5,158), David Hierro (31st - $5,158), Tomas Fara (25th - $5,554), David Peters (21st - $5,554), and Vesa Jakobsson (14th - $7,935).

According to the WPT Blog, the final hand of the tournament took place in Level 39 (400,000/800,000/100,000) when Noonan shoved holding the A?9? and Guudger called with the A?Q?. Noonan had some kicker issues, and they didnt get resolved on the K?K?A? flop.

Noonans rail began calling for a chop, but that didnt happen as the 5? blanked on the turn followed by the 4? on the river.

"We haven't got venue or everything sorted out yet, so this will really help, said Gudger, who plans to use some of her winnings to pay for the wedding. We can pay off some of the mortgage too, which is great!"
