EPT Prague Set to Become One of PokerStars' Biggest Live Festivals Ever
PokerStars expects the upcoming stop of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Prague to be "one of PokerStars' biggest ever live poker festivals."
Built around an action-packed calendar of events, the EPT Prague Poker Festival is set to kick off at the Hilton Prague on Dec. 7, and run for 11 days full of tournaments, parties, and surprises.
"The Prague Poker Festival always attracts a large number of players who play both tournaments and cash games," EPT President Edgar Stuchly said.
Organized together with the Eureka Poker Tour, the 11-day long festival will feature 59 different tournaments with marquee events such as the EPT 5,300 Main Event, the Eureka 1,100 Main Event, the 10,300 High Roller, and the 50,000 Super High Roller that will immediately become the highest buy-in live poker event ever held in the Czech Republic.
The EPT Prague Poker Festival will also mark the introduction of the new Midnight Turbo events, some new live tournaments starting at midnight with buy-ins that will range from 300 to 1,000.
Also during the 11 days of the festival, PokerStars will host three EPT Omaha Championships, the first-ever EPT Juniors Event for players aged 18-21, a 200 buy-in Seniors' Event for players aged 50 or over, and the Finnish Championships.
"This year's festival has potential to be even bigger than last season, where both the Eureka and EPT Main Events shattered records," Stuchly continued.
The 2013 edition of the EPT Prague turned out to be a great success for the poker room, as the over 9,000 entries across the 47 events in the festival's schedule generated a combined prize pool of almost 13 million.
The high turnout of players in 2013 helped PokerStars also to set new records both for Eureka's and EPTs main events, which attracted 1,315 and 1,007 participants, respectively.
