Celebrations Begin as Unibet Poker Approaches 100 Million Hands Dealt 0001

Although PokerStars caught most of the attention with its celebrations for its run-up to its 1 billionth tournament, the world's largest online poker site is not the only one to celebrate an important milestone this month.

Unibet Poker is commemorating a milestone of dealing its 100 millionth hand since the site left the MPN Network to launch its own stand-alone poker client developed by Relax Gaming.

The new poker client launched with hopes that it would allow Unibet to better attract recreational players and offered a completely redesigned playing experience. Since the launch of the new client, the poker room has been increasing in popularity, recording a 17.6-percent revenue growth in the third quarter of the year.

Unibet is now hoping to build on that through a special promotion it initially announced on the Two Plus Two poker forum on Nov. 19, and which included special cash prizes given to for every 100,000th hand, starting with hand number 95 million until the 100 millionth hand is dealt.

The size of the award depends on whether a player won the hand or was just sitting in, as well as how many flops the person played at that table before the milestone hand. There is also a multiplier depending on the stake of the game the milestone hand was hit on.

The 100th million hand can possibly award an extra 1,000,000 to the winner if they are lucky enough to have a royal flush as the winning hand. While this is unlikely to happen, there are other prizes the winner can score, starting with an extra 10,000 for just having a high card without a pair.

According to an announcement a Unibet Poker rep made on Two Plus Two, the poker room believes it will reach its 95 millionth hand on Nov. 24.
