Tighe and Monaco Earn Titles at 2015 Western New York Poker Challenge
The 2015 Western New York Poker Challenge is cruising along at the Niagara Falls Poker Room, and Sunday night saw the completion of two more events on the jam-packed schedule. In Event 3: $300 No-Limit Hold'em, Pat Tighe grabbed the title and $9,514 in prize money. In Event 4: $100 No-Limit Hold'em, Frank Monaco earned the win and $2,154.
Tighe Tops in Third Event
Tighe got the best of a field of 135 entries to win the third event on the schedule early Monday morning. Although a deal was struck during four-handed play, Tighe officially recorded a $9,514 win after outlasting a marathon final table and beating Cameron Bartolotta heads up.
Final Table Payouts
Place | Player | Prize |
---|---|---|
1 | Pat Tighe | $9,514 |
2 | Cameron Bartolotta | $5,880 |
3 | Gene Amplement | $4,248 |
4 | Jimmy Thomson | $3,178 |
5 | John Michalak | $2,311 |
6 | Rob Davis | $1,767 |
7 | Christopher Trybus | $1,359 |
8 | Ronnie D'Grillo | $1,054 |
9 | Robert Petersen | $850 |
Tighe showed up near the top of the chip counts at the final three tables, and while he made the final table with a healthy stack, there were several times he found himself short as play went on.
Getting key double ups to survive just when he needed them, Tighe grinded his way into four-handed action and took control from there.
He entered heads-up play facing a deficit, but doubled through Bartolotta to take the lead and eventually got him to commit all his chips dominated with the A?10?. Tighe had the A?Q?, and a board of 7?6?6?A?9? gave Tighe the win.
Monaco Rolls To Victory in Fourth Event
Monaco took down the fourth event, defeating a field of 92 entries including Rick Ross heads up.
Final Table Payouts
Place | Player | Prize |

6 | Galvin Van Brussel | $382 |
7 | Thomas Scanlon | $309 |
