888 Holdings Launches the Multi-State Poker Network in Delaware and Nevada 0001

888 Holdings has announced the Multi-State Poker Network (MSPN) is now live, connecting regulated poker sites powered by the 888poker client software together in Delaware and Nevada.

On Tuesday, March 24, the ground-breaking soft-launch began, sharing liquidity across four regulated American online poker sites in Delaware and Nevada. This marked the first time that regulated poker took place across multiple states.

Currently most of the players on the MSPN network are playing throughout Nevada on Caesars Interactive Entertainment Inc.'s WSOP.com. This is primarily due to Delaware being a smaller state population wise, and also the three Delaware Lottery licensees, Delaware Park, Dover Downs, and Harrington Raceway, failing to create any liquidity with 10 players or less often playing rings games on the network according to PokerScout.

888 Holdings not only expects the MSPN network to help grow and sustain regulated online poker in Delaware, but also help players in Nevada see more players at ring games and bigger prize pools in tournaments.

The new network may grow even quicker if Treasure Island launches its online poker room later in the year as anticipated. According to PokerAtlas, this new room is expected to join the network since it is powered by 888poker's software and was previously expected to join forces with WSOP.com Nevada under the All American Poker Network (AAPN).

Chief Executive Officer of 888 Holdings Brian Mattingley commented on his excitement about the MSPN and hopes for it to grow in the future in a press release, The launch of the MSPN is a key milestone for 888 and marks a new era for regulated online gaming in the United States. This has all been made possible by 888s flexible and robust gaming platform, deployed across all three regulated US states, which opens up the possibility for other states in the US to join in the future, should they choose to. It has been our honor to be a part of this ground-breaking project and we congratulate the States of Nevada and Delaware, under the leadership of (Nevada) Governor (Brian) Sandoval and (Delaware) Governor (Jack) Markell, and the gaming regulators of both states, for implementing the regulation which enables our technology to deliver a safe, secure and exciting shared poker network for their eligible players."
