Daily fantasy sports is here to stay. That's why iBus Media, the parent company of PokerNews, PokerNews, and BookieSmash, decided to bet on the growth of the industry with the acquisition of FantasyWired, one of the leading online portals in the fantasy sports space.

"We've been keeping a close eye on the daily fantasy sports space for a while, dipping our toes in the water by introducing content on PokerNews, and working with partners like DraftKings to support some of their live daily fantasy sports events," iBus Media Chief Creative Officer Matthew Parvis explained.

Talking about the acquisition, Parvis added that the inclusion of FantasyWired to the iBus Media family represents a great chance for the group to further explore the vertical and to put the experience gained in the poker industry at the service of daily fantasy sports enthusiasts.

"With the acquisition of FantasyWired we can finally dive in all the way," Parvis continued. "We're thrilled to have a strong framework in place that was built by the founding team at FantasyWired, and we'll be taking that framework and building a site that'll be a can't miss for fantasy enthusiasts of all skill levels."

Parvis' enthusiasm is shared also by iBus Media Sports Editor-in-Chief Brett Collson, whose plan is to make FantasyWired the most authoritative and innovative guide to daily fantasy sports out there.

"In recent years, the daily fantasy sports industry has exploded in the same way poker did a decade ago," Collson commented. "It's only going to continue to grow, and we're excited for the opportunity to become a major player."

Speaking about his plans for the site, Collson went on to explain that "with a strong team of writers and daily fantasy sports experts already in place at FantasyWired, we aim to build a go-to resource to help players gain an edge on the field, while offering videos, podcasts, and interviews with the best in the game."

The success of the deal that brought the site under the umbrella of the iBus Media also received the blessing of the FantasyWired's Founder and President Matt Brown, who will stay on board in an advisory role and will anchor a DFS podcast to be launched in early April.

"FantasyWired was established to assist in the transition of tens of millions of seasonal fantasy sports players to the fun and exciting world of daily fantasy sports," Brown said.

With a past that includes experiences at Bluff Media as a contributing editor, and at Heavy.com as MMA Editor-in-Chief, Brown is excited about the possibility that iBus' entrance in the daily fantasy sports vertical represents for the industry and for the visitors of FantasyWired.

"With the built-in gaming audience and global reach of iBus Media's expansive network, I am overly excited that FantasyWired will bring the joys of daily fantasy sports to hundreds of thousands of new players in the coming year," Brown said.

Launched in 2013, FantasyWired is a daily fantasy sports resource geared at helping new and experienced daily fantasy sports players craft their line-ups, find good values, and, all in all, become winning daily fantasy sports players.
