The World Series of Poker Circuit, which is in its 11th season, visited the Horseshoe Baltimore for the very first time this week. The 12-ring stop got off to a hot start as Event #2 $365 No-Limit Hold'em Reentry became the largest poker event in Maryland history with 2,403 runners.

It was also the second-largest WSOP Circuit event of the season behind Choctaw Casino Resorts' Event #3 $365 No-Limit Hold'em Reentry, which attracted 4,053 entrants and saw Ray Henson win $197,588 after defeating poker legend T.J. Cloutier in heads-up play.

In the end it was Colorado's Jesse Mills who scooped the WSOPC ring and the six-figure top prize on Tuesday. Mills had a strategy in place when the final day began and was able to execute it as planned.

"I think the one thing that I did do was avoid the tougher players and fold big hands when I wasnt sure," said Mills, who sat fourth in chips with 17 players returning for the third and final day.

Back in October, the 35-year-old, who runs a small business in Denver, finished fourth in a $365 no-limit hold'em event at the WSOP Circuit Southern Indiana for $4,752, which was his second-largest cash at the time. Since then, Mills worked hard to improve his game, and it paid off in spades as his seventh cash of the season ended up being his largest career score and first WSOP Circuit gold ring.

Mills now intends to qualify for the season-ending National Championship, and with 110 points on the National Leaderboard, he's got a legitimate chance of doing it.
