Each week, PokerNews brings you insight into the happenings at some of the major poker sites. Featuring the most popular blog posts, BlogNews Weekly is your one-stop shop for all your poker blog highlights.

This week, we bring you highlights from PokerStars, Full Tilt, and partypoker blogs from last week.

Lex Veldhuis Switching Gears

Many professional poker players feel that unless they have significant time to dedicate to poker sessions, it isn't worth hopping on the felt. In the past, Team PokerStars Online Pro Lex Veldhuis fell into this trap, and in a blog post titled Different approach: shorter sessions, he discusses how he would play poker if he could dedicate at least 10 hours to a session.

Veldhuis recently discovered that playing shorter sessions at times has certain advantages. The Dutch poker player feels that not only can shorter sessions contribute towards his goal of once again achieving Supernova Elite status on PokerStars, but also that he is more likely to be fresher when compared to longer sessions.

Additionally, Veldhuis feels that shorter sessions can increase his intensity while playing, and give him more time for his personal life.

Patrik Antonius Calls With Queen High

Patrik Antonius is known for consistently finding a way to win at the highest stakes ring games, regardless of whether the poker action is online or live. The Finnish poker pro is also known for making some very unorthodox moves, and he is often correct with his reads.

The Full Tilt blog titled Patrik Plays Queen High discusses one of these "don't try it at home" instances, where a few years ago Antonius correctly called an over-bet on the river holding just queen high on an ace-high board.

Kenneth Vass Wins a $6,000 Kings of Vegas Package

Partypoker is giving away 25 luxurious Kings of Vegas packages valued at $6,000, which includes a trip to Sin City to play in the WPT500 Aria.

Recreational Canadian online poker player Kenneth Vass was the latest to win a free trip to the City of Lights, and according to the blog titled On his way to WPT500, Kenneth Vass wins a Kings of Vegas package, he couldn't be more excited for his free chance to play for a $2 million guaranteed prize pool.

Vass is also understandably a little nervous considering he has never played in a live poker event before. "Im very excited, but also a bit nervous to be honest C I've never actually played a live event or even handled real chips," said Vass. "Its a great opportunity to try it out, but I will definitely need to work on my poker face."
